    Pristina - The election campaign for the Nov 17 elections in Kosovo-Metohija, started on Wednesday with calls for the independence of Serbia's southern province issued by the former leader of the terrorist Liberation Army of Kosovo (KLA), Hashim Thaqi, who is now the head of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (DPK).

    GUARANTEES ON FUTURE STATUS OF KOSOVO SERBS EXPECTED

    Belgrade - Belgrade - Serbian Justice Minister Vladan Batic told Tanjug on Wednesday that the Democratic Opposition of Serbia (DOS) bloc expected written guarantees about the future status of Serbs before a decision is made on the participation of local Serbs in elections in Kosovo and Metohija. The written guarantees should cover security and return of Serbs to the province and information on missing persons, Batic specified.

    OSCE ANNOUNCES BINDING REGULATIONS ON ELECTION CAMPAIGN

    Kosovska Mitrovica - The election campaign for Nov 17 officially began in Kosovo and Metohija province on Wednesday and the OSCE has announced that the Central Electoral Commission has adopted a binding rule book on media activities during the campaign covering advertising and financing. An electoral subcommission for requests and complaints will take care of the implementation of these rules, and political parties and coalitions must limit ads to two minutes.
