Kosovska Mitrovica - A Serb-populated village in UN-ruled Kosovo-Metohija was shelled just after 8 pm on Sunday from the direction of an ethnic Albanian village. ROADBLOCKS STAY, KOSOVO-METOHIJA SERB WILL NOT REGISTER FOR POLLS

    (Tanjug, 2. 7. 2001.)

Kosovska Mitrovica - Kosovo-Metohija's Serbs will keep up their roadblocks over UN taxes and will not register for polls, called by the Serbian (Yugoslav) province's UN administration for Nov 17, a local Serb official said on Monday. "We are adamant on our position that the roadblocks stay and we shall even intensify them", Political Committee for the Defence of Northern Kosovo Coordinator Milan Ivanovic told Tanjug. Ivanovic said the Serbs' decision is due to mounting pressure against them in north Kosovska Mitrovica and northern Kosovo, as evident from Sunday's shelling of the Milovic family home in Korilje village in the Zvecan municipality.
