Albanian terrorists tried to kidnap Boban, Bogdan, Stevan and Angelina Gudzic from Dobrotina village. They were returning from Lipljan in their car.

The persons received major physical injuries during the attack. Boban Gudzic was stabbed with a knife under his left eye, and his father Bogdan was stabbed in his right-hand shoulder. Fortunately, the attempt did not succeed, since they managed to escape.

    ETHNIC ALBANIAN TERRORISTS WOUND SERB

    (Serbia info, 3. 4. 2000)

April 02, 2000 - Kosovska Vitina/Vrbovac, April 2nd (Tanjug) - Ethnic Albanian terrorists wounded Serb Apostol Rakic, 65, in an armed attack on the local road Mogila-Vrbovac at about 8 p.m. Saturday, amateur radio operators reported from Kosovo-Metohia on Sunday.

After the attack, the terrorists fled in their automobile in the direction of the ethnic Albanian-populated village of Djelekare.

Rakic was hit in the arm. He was treated for the wound at the US Bondsteel base near Urosevac, and was admitted to the hospital for further treatment.

Serbs from this area of the province link the frequent ethnic Albanian terrorist attacks with the presence of notorious terrorist Sadam Fayza of Mogila, who was recently released from prison.

As soon as they heard about the incident, Serbs went into the streets of Vrbovac and blocked all roads through the village, protesting against ethnic Albanian terrorists, but also against the international force KFOR which is deliberately lenient in securing and controlling checkpoints, thus enabling ethnic Albanian terrorists to launch attacks on Serbs and subsequently to escape, the radio amateurs' report said.

    NEW KIDNAPPING OF SERBS

    (Serbia info, 3. 4. 2000)

April 01, 2000 - Kosovska Mitrovica, March 31st - Two residents of the village of Plemetina, Obilic district, disappeared five days ago on the Pristina - Kosovska Mitrovica road, and since then, there is no information about them, it was stated today at the press conference in Kosovska Mitrovica.

Igor Stanimirovic (20) and Branko Stanojevic (22) disappeared in the vicinity of Vucitrn, and this area is secured by the United Arabian Emirates KFOR troops, stated the representatives of the village of Plemetina, Ljubomir Jakovljevic and Ljubomir Bosanac.

According to them, members of the Norwegian peacekeeping forces, have yesterday, without any reason, searched the house of Cedomir Vuksanovic, took his money and gold, and blamed it all on UNMIK intervention.

The residents of Plemetina are embittered by the behaviour of the Norwegian "peacekeeping" forces, who often search Serb houses in this village, and almost every night, shooting can be heard from the villages in which Albanians live, and which surround Plemetina - Strovce, Leskovcic, Hamidije, Sibovac and Bivoljak.

Norwegian KFOR troops, aside from giving their best to make life of the residents of Plemetina miserable, do nothing to help them in their daily organisation of life.

This is why food supplies are being transported to them with much difficulty, and when an escort for the sick is needed, they are being ignored. From this village it is only safe to go to the neighbouring village of Priluzje, 3km away.

Some 1,050 Serbs live in Plemetina. There are around 300 schoolchildren in the village, and there exist two secondary schools specialised in economic and medical studies.

HAND GRENADE IN A SERB BACKYARD

    (Serbia info, 3. 4. 2000)

April 02, 2000 - Gnjilane, April 1st (Tanjug) - This morning in Gnjilane, an unexploded hand grenade was found in the backyard of a Serb house reported the Church People's Board of Gnjilane.

    Maksimovic's wife discovered the grenade.

After the entire family was evacuated from the house, UNMIK police and KFOR troops took extensive measures and destroyed the grenade, says the report.

It is suspected that the grenade was thrown in the back yard two or three nights ago, but the vegetation successfully hid it.

Family Maksimovic is highly respected in the town, so the attack was a clear signal to other Serb families in Gnjilane.

    SERB BLOCKADE IN VRBOVAC

    (B2 - 92, 3. 4. 2000)

Kosovo, Sunday Serbs from the village of Vrbovac near the town of Kosovska Vitina have blocked all the roads around the village in protest against the attack on a local priest, which took, place last night. HIEROMONK SAVA JANJIC: DANGEROUS ISOLATION

    (Glas javnosti, 4. 3. 2000)

Belgrade, Gracanica - "In case the international community wants to have us as the permanent participants in the Kosovo political process, they will support the Kosovo SNC suggestions and begin fulfilling our conditions, for during the last few months we have received certain positive signals from some Western countries that more concrete steps will be taken in order to suppress the violence there", stated Hieromonk Sava, a monk from Decani monastery while commenting the reasons for accepting the status of observer.

According to his words, if certain beginning results are gained, "we will be very pleased to alter the status of being observer, into being the regular KIAC member".

"Refusal of co-operation, isolation, and closing from the outer world might aggravate our position even more, just now when the Western countries slowly open doors to the Kosovo Serbs", emphasised Fr Sava Janjic. (*)

    (B2 - 92, 3. 4. 2000)

Kosovo, Sunday The Serbian National Council voted to join the Kosovo Temporary Administrative Council as observers at their meeting in Gracanica today. After an initial period of three months the Council will decide about their further involvement in the Temporary Administrative Council.

Serbian National Council representatives from Kosovska Mitrovica did not attend the meeting today. Serb representative from Kosovska Mitrovica, Oliver Ivanovic told the press that their opinion is that Serbs should not join the Temporary Council because such action would legitimise the exodus of Serbs from Kosovo, the exodus organised by those who sit at the very same council.

IF WITHIN THREE MONTHS REQUESTS OF SERB NATIONAL COUNCIL OF KOSOVO ARE FULFILLED, FUNCTIONS IN MUTUAL BODIES WILL BE ACTIVATED: SERB OBSERVERS IN PAVK AND THE COUNCIL

"Our request is that UNMIK and KFOR stop violence in the following three months as well as ethnic cleansing of the Serbs specially from Gnjilane, Vitina, Obilic, Kosovo Polje, Kosovska Kamenica, Orahovac and Novo Brdo. Our next request concerns determined action in finding the Serbs kidnapped since 1998 and that those responsible for crimes, murder, robberies, destruction of houses, churches and monuments face the justice. UN mission should carefully reconsider all regulations and other acts put in force by Bernard Kouchner that are contrary to UN Resolution 1244. If they are confirmed to be contrary to Resolution 1244 they should be put out of force. Also all decisions made by self-proclaimed civil administrators of Hashim Thaqui government should be put out of force, especially those concerning the change of street names as an attempt of erasing thousand years of Serb history in Kosovo", the statement issued after the session in Gracanica reads. If these requests are fulfilled, Serb National Council shall replace its appointed representatives with permanent members and take active participation in the work of PAVK and the Council.

IVANOVIC: DECISION DISASTROUS FOR THE SERBS

    (Blic daily, 3. 4. 2000)

Belgrade - President of Executive Board of Serb National Council from Mitrovica region Oliver Ivanovic said that proposal of eventual Serb entering PAVK was "decision of a small group of people that will be disastrous for the Serbs". According to his opinion international community has finally realised it has to do something for the Serb issue. By entering PAVK, Serb issue will be very soon forgotten and all expelled Serbs will stay in Serbia and Montenegro.

"I claim that this small group of people Bishop Artemy, Father Sava Janjic, Momcilo Trajkovic and Rada Trajkovic are taking upon themselves an enormous responsibility. The history will judge them but there will be no use of that for the Serbs", Ivanovic said. He added that Serbs from the northern Kosovo would not allow to be object of any game.

BRITISH "SUNDAY TELEGRAPH": CONFIDENTIAL NATO DOCUMENT REVEALED ON INTERNET "BY MISTAKE"

    (Glas javnosti, 4. 3. 2000)

London - As "Sunday Telegraph" states, British Ministry of Defence has commenced investigation concerning the top-secret files having leaked to an Internet site of an unknown agency. The file contains precise instructions for KFOR soldiers' conduct and activities within land operations in Kosovo, specifying the conditions under which armed, lethal force can be used. The document also contains an order to NATO soldiers, to extradite any person suspected of committing war crimes to International Tribunal for War Crimes, within 48 hours.

A British high official excluded a possibility of Military computers being hacked, estimating that the document appeared on the Internet by "mistake".

    NATO Spokesman Jamey Shay added:

"If the news that NATO document has been disclosed to public, proves to be right, it would be a huge problem for us. It is a top-secret NATO file of high-levelled sensitivity, for which we prefer to stay that way". (*)

ACCORDING TO THE PLAN OF SERB NATIONAL COUNCIL OF MITROVICA REGION: 25,000 SERBS WILL RETURN TO METOHIA TILL SEPTEMBER

    (Blic daily, 3. 4. 2000)

Kosovska Mitrovica - Till September this year, 25,000 of expelled Serbs should return in Metohia in two phases. This is the plan of Serb National Council of Mitrovica region that is mediator between KFOR and UNMIK on one side and the expelled Serbs on the other.

The first phase of Serb return should be finished till the middle of June and it covers 5,000 people. UNMIK and KFOR should support this plan financially, in the terms of organisation and logistics", Marko Jaksic member of Serb National Council of this region says.

The first phase covers the villages of Osojane, Paljevo, Drsnik, Dolac, Tucepo, Saljinovica, Berkovo, Renovac, Suvi Lukovac, Krivaca, Zac, Djurakovac and some other. The second phase includes return of 20,000 Serbs from June till September to the wider region of Kosovo.

SERB RENEWAL MOVEMENT: SUPPORT TO IVANOV AND CRITICISM OF YUGOSLAV AUTHORITIES

    (Blic daily, 3. 4. 2000)

Belgrade - Serb Renewal Movement yesterday supported opinion of Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov that Federal republic of Yugoslavia should show more flexibility towards the international community in settlement of Kosovo crisis.

"Serbia and Yugoslavia can preserve Kosovo and Metohia and provide peace and security for Kosovo Serbs only in the full co-operation with the leading countries of the world", the statement of SRM reads.

"The international community has made and is still making numerous mistakes in its approach to Kosovo issues, however in overcoming and elimination of these mistakes, our active participation and productive compromise are required. Instead, the regime is intensifying anti-western campaign characterised by hysteria".

THE CENSUS IN KOSOVO-METOHIA IS COMPLETELY WORTHLESS FOR SERBIA AND YUGOSLAVIA

    (Serbia info, 3. 4. 2000)

April 01, 2000 - Belgrade, March 31st - Member of the Executive Board of the Main Board of the Socialist Party of Serbia and the head of the Provincial Board of the Socialist Party of Serbia of Kosovo-Metohia, Zivorad Igic, said that the planned census intended by UN mission in Kosovo-Metohia would be merely a mechanic act, which would be completely insignificant and unimportant for Serbia and Yugoslavia.

Igic said that under the conditions when over 350 thousand Serbs, Montenegrins and other citizens from Kosovo-Metohia were expelled from that part of Serbia, and from Albania and Macedonia entered several hundreds of thousands Albanians, such a census is superfluous and useless.

Such a census, Igic stressed, would be just one more instance in the row of barbaric violation of the Security Council Resolution and other documents of the World Organisation for Kosovo-Metohia whose non-appliance turned that part of Serbia into the region of anarchy, violence and terror.
