ELDERLY SERB WOMAN ATTACKED IN PRIZREN
On the religous holiday of Djurdjic on November 16, 2000, 25 Serbian women
attended Holy Liturgy in the Church of St. George in Prizren. After liturgy,
when those present dispersed to go to their homes, two elderly Serb women,
DOSTA STEFANOVIC and DOSTA JANKOVIC, also left. The two of them live in
the settlement of Bazdarana. Approximately twenty meters from their home,
they were attacked by an unknown young Albanian man on a bicycle. He threw
a rock weighing two kilograms at Dosta Stefanovic and struck her in the
head. After inflicting this serious physical injury, he fled while Dosta
received immediate medical attention. Members of KFOR "explained" to me,
as a representative of the Church, that this attack was due to the protest
of the Albanians of the imprisonment of their compatriots in Serbian jails.???
