EUU.S. and Russia unanimous about Kosovo's future says Italian minister
BETA
February 23, 2005
BELGRADE, Feb. 23, 2005 (BETA) - Italian Foreign Minister Gianfranco Fini stated ahead of his tour of the western Balkans, during which he will also visit Belgrade and Pristina, that the European Union, the U.S. and Russia have a unanimous stand on the European future of Kosovo.
Fini, who is to arrive in Belgrade on Wednesday, Feb., 23, said the "essential precondition" for this is "the implementation of all standards" and, at the same time, called on the representatives of the Serb community in Kosovo to participate in the work of the democratically elected institutions in Kosovo.
"In Pristina, my message will point out the great attention Italy and the international community is dedicating to this part of the region, and engagement towards its full stabilization, both in the fields of finance and human resources," Fini said.
