Solve Problem Or We Leave Kosovo
B92
February 23, 2005
Gracanica, 22 Feb (B92) - Internally dispersed currently living in Central Kosovo have asked the Serbian government and UNMIK that they provide them with normal living conditions or they will be forced to move to some of the Western European countries.
During a gathering in Gracanica, around 80 internally dispersed signed a letter which points out that for six years now they are living in extremely hard conditions which are getting worse with every passing day. This letter was sent to UNMIK and the Serbian government. The letter also points out that back in 2000, 520 internally displaced families were living in the central part of Kosovo and Metohija, and that today there are only 200.
The letter further states that the main reason for leaving Kosovo and Metohija are the extremely difficult living conditions, since most of the internally dispersed are unemployed and are living in abandoned houses and collective centers without adequate humanitarian and social help and assistance.
Help sent by the Serbian government and other humanitarian organizations does not reach those families, claims the letter and adds that internally displaced are demanding an audience with the highest representatives in Belgrade and Pristina, so that they can fully present their problems.
