Italy will support Kosovo in the standards fulfillment process

PRISTINA, Tuesday, February 22, 2005 (KosovaLive) - The chief of the Italian Office in Prishtina, Pasquale Salzano in a meeting with the Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj assessed positively the engagement of Kosovo's government in implementation of standards.

Salzano said that Italy would continue to support Kosovo in this process, and in particular in the process for reformation of local government.

Salzano also informed Haradinaj on the visit of the Italian Foreign Minister Gianfranco Fini to Kosovo. "It is a high level visit, and he (Fini) is coming in a very important moment," said Salzano.

Haradinaj on the other hand appreciated highly the role and the engagement of Italy in Kosovo during the NATO strikes in 1999, as well as in the post war reconstruction phase.
