HARADINAJ: WE WILL PROVE THAT OUR GOVERNMENT-OPPOSITION MODEL IS NOT GOING TO BE AS IN OTHER BALKAN COUNTRIES
(Epoka e Re, Pristina Daily in Albanian, November 30)
Epoka e Re reruns an interview of Douche Welle with the AAK chairman and candidate for Kosovo PM Ramush Haradinaj, here are some highlights of it.
Mr. Haradinaj, there were clear positions of the international community regarding the coalition between the LDK and AAK and non-Serb minorities.
This was neither refused nor supported decisively. How do you evaluate the position of the international community?
HARADINAJ: I think that the international community has its great merits for the progress achieved in Kosovo and for the achievement of Kosovo people to implement all values of democracy, where as recent case is successful elections. Another great success is that we in Kosovo, managed to agree on the way of governance. While, as far as an enthusiasm from the international community, is concerned, I think that there are many aspects impacted so they are not so enthusiastic, but what I could say is that the international community did not take any role to obstacle these agreement.
Mr. Haradinaj, the EU Senor Representative for Foreign Policy Javier Solana said that Ramush Haradinaj's candidacy wasn't the best solution due to the fact that Hardainaj was interviewed by The Hague Tribunal?
HARADINAJ: The Javier Solana's statement was his answer to journalists on this issue. I think that Mr. Solana has a great investment in Kosovo. The official statement of Mr. Solana was a supporting statement to Kosovo institutions and I personally expect that Mr. Solana and the EU foreign policy continue to support processes in Kosovo and our efforts to start with negotiations on the final status for Kosovo next year.
Mr. Haradinaj how do you approach to the issue of establishment of real relations with the minorities in Kosovo, especially with the Serb minority, since this is a continuing request of the international community?
HARADINAJ: We are working in this direction. You know that from March of this year we have great progress in this direction. There are some stagnations due to Belgrade's boycott to processes in Kosovo, but we will try convince Serb minority in Kosovo that their participation in Kosovo institutions will bring them more possibilities to achieve their rights.
