UNMIK digs in KOSOVSKA MITROVICA The regional headquarters of the UN mission in Kosovska Mitrovica have been fortified with a two and a half metre wall of solid concrete. UNMIK police say the wall was built yesterday, on the recommendation of UN headquarters, five years after the office was established in the town. UNMIK, which regularly claims that the security situation in the province has improved, says that the fortifications were decided on because of events in Iraq and regular attacks on peacekeepers.
