DORMITION
OF THE MOST HOLY MOTHER OF GOD CELEBRATED IN KOSOVO
In
his homily following holy liturgy, Bishop Artemije called on the
people to repentance "which must be long and steadfast for
we have wandered very far from God." Bishop Artemije prayed
to the Lord Jesus Christ that love and peace may fill the hearts
of all men in Kosovo and Metohija, and that attacks on innocent
civilians finally stop.

AROUND SOKOLICA MONASTERY DURING FEASTDAY CELEBRATION
Abbess
Makaria said that during the Holy feast of the Dormition of Mother
of God, (August 28), gun fire could be heard from the neighboring
Albanian villages surrounding her Monastery. Serb Orthodox pilgrims
from Mitrovica and Zvecan region who gathered for prayer in Sokolica
Monastery were alarmed by this quite obvious provocation which
was intended to spread fear among Serb congregation during the
celebration.

DEMAND ESCORT FOR SCHOOL BUS
UNMIK chief Hari Holkeri was given a letter demanding that he
provide escort for school buses and a return of the check points
near Kosovo schools in which the education program is in the Serbian
language.

IS OBVIOUS SET-UP - UCK ROAMS AROUND CAGLAVICA VILLAGE
In the unfinished house of Momcilo Trajkovic, the president of
the Serbian Parliament Committee for Kosovo and Metohija, 300
m from the Serb village of Caglavica unknown attackers were preparing
an ambush - On Friday morning, at around 0800 hours, three persons
dressed in black uniforms with the UCK emblem, armed with pistols,
passed by the Caglavica management school, stated Predrag Mitrovic
to KIM radio, who at that time was at work in the this school
building.

INTERIOR MINISTRY ISSUES STATEMENT ON EXPLOSIONS
The statement says three consecutive explosions took place late
on Thursday in Skopje’s central area between 22:10 and 22:20
hours. The Ministry of Interior is pursuing a thorough investigation
aimed at tracking down the perpetrators of this crime.

ANOTHER ATTACK ON THE SERB ORTHODOX
CHURCH OF ST. DEMETRIUS
On
Wednesday evening (Aug 27) unknown persons damaged for the third
time in last four months the fence and the gate in front of the
Serbian Orthodox church of St. Demetrius in the ethnically mixed
village of Susica, 2 km, east from Gracanica.
DECLARATION
ON KOSOVO - PLATFORM FOR FURTHER POLICY MAKING
The Declaration on Kosovo and Metohija does not provide an absolute
resolution of the problems in the province, since many other things
must be completed first, the return of displaced Serbs, ensuring
a satisfactory level of security and work, and to supply them
with all the human rights that citizens of Serbia enjoy, said
Zoran Zivkovic in a press conference today, adding that above
all else these were obligations of the international community.
WOUNDED
KOSOVO SERB UNDERGOES SURGERY
Kosovo Serb Zoran Doncic, wounded by Albanian snipers earlier
this week, had surgery this morning in the Serb hospital in Kosovska
Mitrovica. Deputy hospital director Milan Ivanovic explained that
a bullet has been removed from Doncic’s abdomen and that
the patient is recovering.

MACEDONIAN POLICEMEN RELEASED AFTER KIDNAP BY REBEL COMMANDER
Macedonian police units Wednesday released two officers who were
kidnapped by an ethnic Albanian rebel commander in northern Macedonia,
near the border with the UN-run Serbian province of Kosovo, a
spokeswoman said.

UNANIMOUS
YES TO KOSOVO DECLARATION
The
Parliament of Serbia has adopted a proposed declaration on Kosovo
which says that "state sovereignty and territorial inviolability
of the Republic of Serbia, a member state of the state union of
Serbia and Montenegro, applies to Kosovo and Metohija despite
its provisional international administration, as confirmed by
UN Security Council Resolution 1244" (Conclusion No2)

TERRORISTS SERIOUSLY WOUND SERB RETURNEE NEAR KLINA
The attack occurred just 500 meters from KFOR checkpoint in the
area of the Serb returnee village of Bica (pr. Beechah) on the
meadow where the local Serb farmers usually let their cattle to
graze. Zoran Doncic (father of two little children), was seriously
wounded in the back by a sniper hit from the direction of the
neighboring Albanian village Shtupel.

KLINA AND VITINA
It appears that only when UN personnel get killed one can speak
of terrorism but when innocent Serb children and farmers get slaughtered
at random, it is usually referred as deplorable incidents. Such
policy of double standards and UNMIK's systematic hiding of
the true situation in the volatile Province of Kosovo are among
the main reasons for the continuation of ethnic violence and growth
of ethnic Albanian terrorism.

A group calling itself the Albanian National Army (AKSH) said

a Serb 10 years old girl (Marina Damjanovic) in the Serb enclave-village
of Dobrotin. After this incident Serb villagers sponatneusly
blocked the road but the Albanian mafiosi sped away in time out
of the village in their brand new Merzedes with foreign reg. plates.

WHY
ARE YOU SILENT SERBIA?
Several hundred expelled Kosovo Serbs protest in Belgrade against
terrorist attack in Gorazdevac
At the protest held on Saturday in Republic Square in Belgrade
against the terrorist attack in Gorazdevac on August 13 in which
two Serb children were killed and four other Serb children seriously
wounded, several hundred citizens, primarily expelled Kosovo Serbs,
requested from the international community that "the murderers
are brought to justice, terrorist leaders and their associates
arrested and immediately extradited to the Hague, and Serbs enabled
to return to Kosovo and Metohija."
The
Serbia and Montenegro government was asked for "more intensive
activity in resolving the Kosovo problem as national issue number
one, the unity of all relevant political forces, and the ratification
of the Declaration on Kosovo and Metohija."
THOUSANDS
OF PEOPLE PAY TRIBUTE TO GORAZDEVAC VICTIMS
Several thousand people assembled last night in central
Belgrade to pay last tribute to the two Serb teenagers recently
killed in the Kosovo village of Gorazdevac.
People
from a number of Serbian cities lit candles for the victims and
expressed hope that crimes such as that in Gorazdevac would not
be repeated.

requiem service (parastos) for the boys Pantelija Dakic and Ivan

1,200 PERSONS KILLED SINCE DEPLOYMENT OF KFOR IN KOSOVO
Since the deployment of KFOR and UNMIK in Kosovo and
Metohija on June 10, 1999 to August 9 of this year, Albanian terrorists
have carried out 6,535 attacks, resulting in the deaths of 1,201
persons, the wounding of 1,328 persons and the abduction of 1,146
persons, reports the Serbian ministry of internal affairs.

ELDERLY SERB WOMAN ASSAULTED IN KOSOVO
Simic also stated that the assailants physically harassed
and sexually mistreated the old lady, facts which were confirmed
by the Prishtina medical center doctors who gave her medical assistance.
The assailants attacked the old lady at the time when Gnjilane
was under the usual two hours electric power restriction.

A bus taking Serbs from Kosovska Mitrovica to Suvi Dol,

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Nebojsa Covic, who briefed
the UN SC on the actual events, said that the international community
would be responsible for establishment of mono-ethnic Albanian
para-state if it fails to immediately undertake measures that
would put end to violence in Kosovo. Covic said that members of
Kosovo Protection Corpus took part in the crime in Gorazdevac.
He called for a detailed investigation that would lead to suspension
of that formation.
SERBIAN CEMETERY IN PONES SET ON FIRE
On Tuesday morning, the Serbian cemetery in the village
of Ponesh, near Gnjilane, was set on fire. The fire destroyed
the tombstones and the church chapel. The fire blaze also destroyed
what little harvesting plants the local Serbs dared to plant in
the vicinity of the graveyard, reports the KIM radio correspondent.

The car of a Kosovo-Serb was left riddled with bullets
yesterday evening after a barrage of shots were fired from a Kalashnikov
rifle in Mozgov, close to Gnjilane.
DRAGAN TONIC PASSES AWAY A WEEK AFTER KOSOVO SHOOTING
Dragan
Tonic, shot in the face a week ago today, died last night in Belgrade's
Clinical Centre as a result of his injuries.Kosovo-Serb Tonic
was leisurely fishing on the River Sitnica around 150 meters from
the last Serb homes in the village of Skulanevo, when unknown
attackers, suspected to be from a neighboring ethnic Albanian
village, opened fire, hitting Tonic in the mouth.

Stefan Feller, UNMIK Police Commissioner, has today sent
an open letter to Kosovo citizens criticising local media coverage

(UK) KLA LINK SUSPECTED IN UN POLICE MURDER
The killing has caused alarm as it follows recent attacks on symbols
of law and order after the conviction of four ex-KLA members on
war crimes charges. The men, who were sentenced to a total of
45 years, were found guilty of offences including torture, kidnapping
and the inhuman treatment of civilians during the Kosovo conflict
in 1998 and 1999.

Three Kosovo-Albanians have been arrested by an UNMIK special
police unit and KFOR troops in connection with the murder of Indian
UN police major Satish Menon.

Pavic was attacked while he was looking after his livestock on
a meadow near the village. After first aid assistance by his neighbors

ARTEMIJE CALLS FOR MULTIETHNIC KOSOVO
Raska and Prizren Bishop Artemije has insisted that Kosovo "wouldn't,
couldn't and shouldn't ever again be only Serb; but that it wouldn't,
couldn't and shouldn't be only Albanian either".
Speaking to Serbian-language Frankfurt daily Vesti, the bishop
said: "If we could live together with all the nations from
the region in the past then I believe we can in the future too".
PATRIARCH PAVLE MEETS CHIEF OF THE COORDINATION CENTER

His Holiness the Serbian Patriarch Kyr Pavle received Mr. Nebojsa
Covic, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia and
head of the Coordinating Center for Kosovo and Metohija. Mr. Covic
informed His Holiness regarding the most recent worrisome events
in Kosovo and Metohija resulting in the deaths of several persons

Belgrade, Aug 4, 2003 - Head of the Coordinating Centre for Kosovo-Metohija
Nebojsa Covic said that recent incidents in the province confirm
the escalation of terrorism and organised crime, warning that
all citizens, regardless of their ethnicity or religion, are thus
endangered.
ATTACK IN PEC AIMED AT WITNESS OF HARADINAJ
Coordinating Center for Kosovo and Metohija President Nebojsa
Covic has said the target of Sunday evening's attack in Pec was
Rexhep Kelmendi, seriously injured in the attack, who was a prosecution
witness at the trial of KLA leader Daut Haradinaj for crimes committed

ATTACK ON SERB HOUSE IN OBILIC
On Saturday night (2/3 Aug), a minute after midnight a bomb was
thrown in front of the house of Zoran Milic in Obilic. No one
was hurt in the explosion and only a few windows were broken.
Milic family lives in vicinity of the house in which two months
ago three members of the Stolic family were massacred.
THREE DEAD IN WESTERN KOSOVO SHOOTING
PRISTINA, Serbia-Montentegro, Aug 3 (AFP) - Three people were
gunned down and at least four others wounded when unknown assailants
opened fire in western Kosovo late Saturday, an official told
AFP.
MURDER OF A UN POLICE OFFICER
United Nations Police Officer assigned to the Mission in Kosovo
has been murdered in the line of duty. The crime occurred shortly
before midnight on August 3rd, 2003.
